I have a old computer, windows me, but I've had this problem on my xp too. Whenever I try to flay videos, it freezes, or the words get ahead of the pictures, or pictures are jumbled or the words are garbles could someone please help me!

you probably have a crappy video card or a really slow computer.
try changing to resolution of the screen, try the highest and lowest see if there is a difference.
otherwise buy a nice video card

Try to find the latest video driver. ME is certainly crap but a video driver incompatibility will freeze you up too.

There are too possibilities.
1) very low system resources = Add RAM.
2) proper codec not installed = http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm
donload this and install it then use its media player classic to play the video.
