Why doesn't Mexico change the law so that an American can run for El Presidente? Stupid question, but nothing less than expected from you.

They can...in Mexico. We don't have "El Presidente" in the US, we have a president.

The question is.. can someone from outside of this country love and respect it as much as someone that has grown up here their whole life? I have no idea.. I was born and raised american... but I don't think that I could respect someone coming into my country and thinking Hey, that looks easy.. Maybe if I learn english I can achieve something.. there is more to it.. you need to know our past in order to help build our future..

Because they are not AMERICANS and we are in AMERICA. You don't see Americans going to Mexico wanting to be in charge. It has nothing to do with race, so don't go there. A hispanic person, a spanish person, a black person, etc. can run for presidency, as long as he is American.

They already can. In Mexico. Foriegn born can NEVER hold any office there, on the other hand.

Why would we want to? How could we assume that person's loyalty lies with America and not Mexico?
