Easy, cheap & Effective:

Try a mask to bring existing blackheads out, then Listerine to clean your face.
I am now 47 and since childhood I have always cleaned my face with Listerine and cotton balls, especially over and around the nose and forehead area. You would not believe the dirt that comes off. With it being antiseptic you have an additional benefit of pimples unable to form. I have always had a clear, light complexion, my teachers even commented on this throughout high school. I very seldom use a foundation on my skin. Foundations always seemed to clog my pores where they couldn't breath, though there are new oil free on the market now. I still clean my makeup off with Listerine, though now I use a moisturizer after my face drys and a bronzer for added color. My makeup isn't caked on as some foundation cause.

As for a breakout, clean with the Listerine, if really red, hold an ice cube on it and before bedtime, put white toothpaste a dab will do. You don't have to rub it in, but make sure it's covered. by morning most of the red should be gone. Try to keep your fingers off your face. Always use cotton balls, q-tips, something sanitary
The Listerine should start drying alot of it over night.
My youngest - 18 wanted me to get pro-active, I ask her before I did just to try for a week using the Listerine. Mom was right, two days later, her breakout was gone. She has been blemish free for about 3 months now, which for her is a blessing. clean your face about 3 times a day for the first two days. When getting up, after school and before bedtime. You'll notice a difference before the week is up. When not necessary, clean all make-up off, like when you come home from school. Your skin can breath easier. do this until the breakouts stop. If your skin dries out too much as you have very sensitive skin, Use only twice a day.

I am using ProActive after having acne for some number of years. (I'm 12) The ProActiv is defanitly helping and clearing up my skin but my skin gets a little dried near the 'bottom' of my face and right around my nose. However, after using the repairing cream all over (my acne is really bad) my face got too oily. It gets that oily if I over use the creme. I also found that I am allergic to wheats and such that are causing me to break out. If you have horrible or mild acne, ProActv is the way to go. If it helped me out as much as it did, then it will help you. Also, if you want to cover up anything, BareMinerals work like a charm-- or better! Good luck!

What Proactiv Solutions is

Just in case you didn't know, the Proactiv Solutions kit consists of 3 products; Renewing Cleanser, Revitalizing Toner, and Repairing Lotion. They have other products but these are their core acne products.

Proactiv Solutions Acne System

How Proactiv Solutions works

The acne fighting ingredients in Proactiv Solutions are benzoyl peroxide (both in the cleanser and the lotion) and glycolic acid (in the toner).

The benzoyl peroxide in the lotion kills the acne bacteria while the glycolic acid in the toner helps shed of excess skin cells.

What's different about Proactiv Solutions

So what makes Proactiv Solutions different from the thousands of benzoyl peroxide products out there...?

Well, honestly....there's not a whole lot of difference. The single greatest difference is Proactiv Solutions uses a much milder dose of benzoyl peroxide (2.5%) then most benzoyl peroxide products. And it adds to that the glycolic acid to help exfoliate the drying and peeling benzoyl peroxide causes.

Overall, it tends to be far less irritating then most benzoyl peroxide products.

Does it work...? What you can expect from Proactiv Solutions

Honestly, don't expect any miracles. For many of you it will help...no doubt about it. But for just as many others it will cause the same dryness, redness, irritation, and peeling that most benzoyl peroxide products cause.

Should you invest in it?

First understand...Proactiv Solutions does not cure acne. It only helps to reduce some of the symptoms of acne.

It's only a temporary "band aid" . For lasting, long-term freedom from your acne you've got to "fix" the root internal problem causing it. How you ask...?

Checkout my special report, The ONLY Path to LASTING Acne-Free Skin to find out how.
Having said that...

For some of you, it's going to be worth a shot. Even though it is a little pricey you don't have too much to lose by giving it a try (it does carry a 30 day money back guarantee).

My experience with it...

Before I cured my severe acne I tried thousands of topical acne products, including Proactiv Solutions.

Most irritated the $@#! out of my skin. And frankly while Proactiv Solutions helped it also irritated my skin. But to a much lesser degree of most topical acne products.

So give it a try...It's going to help some of you deal with acne symptoms. But don't expect any miracles.

My best advice if you're thinking about giving Proactiv Solutions a try

First understand that you're never going to cure your acne from any topical acne products (Proactiv solutions included).

Sorry, but you just can't do it.

You've got to directly attack and "fix" the internal problem causing your acne. And topical products simply can't do that.

So my best advice is go ahead and try some topical acne treatments like Proactiv Solutions. Find what topical acne products best help you deal with the symptoms of acne while you're fixing the internal problem long-term.

well, my cousin has it and she still breaks out. but if you stay to the schedule and try it out every day and do everything it says-like wash your face and leave the mask on for 10 minutes-. It'll probably work. The key is persistence.

It dried my face out, but it may work for you. The only way to find out is to try it.

Yes! It's a tedious process with the different bottles, but if you keep up with it, you'll see results. ;)
