Any difficulty is available, notwithstanding we've discovered evidence to help that lots of the individuals, places and activities were probable authentic. yet that does no longer mean that the memories weren't decorated and sensationalized. And there are some memories that were stolen from different historic non secular texts, like the Epic of Gilgamesh very almost verbatim. for this reason, i imagine of the Bible as historic fiction. Nova did an fairly good particular in this. (see link lower than) They confirmed how memories like the Exodus, merely did not take position the way the Bible claims it does. possibly there have been those who left the bondage of Egypt, yet no longer in the numbers the Bible claims. they could locate no evidence of one hundred,000 + human beings roaming the desert. There should be if a set that tremendous did so. yet they have discovered issues that look to help the life of figures like kind David. So at the same time as i don't have self assurance the miracles and mind-blowing myths contained in it really is pages, it really is nevertheless a powerful historic textual content.

Science has proven that the scrolls were these scriptures were extracted were in fact thousands of years old through precise carbon dating methods disproves your first premise: that the Bible was written by a real geek some centuries ago. (you can learn more about carbon dating thru wikipedia, but i wont be discussing that here)
Now, if you are familiar with tradition ( the cultural tool that passes certain events, beliefs, and philosophies thru generations without any written proof), you may well know that the ancient Jewish culture would refer to these "scriptures" even before the time of Christ. which means people that lived way before Jesus' time believed in the existence of this sacred texts even before they were actually put down in paper.
The actual collation and subsequent compilation of these texts into a single book, which we now refer to as the Bible, was undertaken a few hundred years after Christ's death, and this process continued for many more years with the addition and deletion of more books as the years passed. so it cannot be possible that a single person, or a single group of persons would have made up all these stories and compiled them into a single book because it took hundreds of years before the final roster of books was officially recognized by auhorities.

Um, no. The texts in the Bible all have a distinct history behind them, and they are written in different languages originally. While there may have been an oral-component to them, it is not so crude as some guy inventing them. It is more like scribes wrote down what people may have revealed.
Check your history. This is really basic stuff.
Robin Hood is a legendary hero, that came out of medieval England. Folktales are passed via word of mouth.

The bible is not fake it really does exist, however it is just a story ,the book has been written and re-written many times it cant possible be the same as when it was first written ,but the stories are somewhat inspiring and the ten commandments are a pretty solid foundation to build your values on.honestly I believe in an almighty but I don't subscribe to any one religion,I find it alot easier to believe in god than to believe I came from monkeys or evolution.

For most Christians, the bible is a tool - they do not worship the bible and the faith would continue if no bibles were printed. As a Christian, I am concerned that some in the faith put a disproportionate amount of faith in the written text and less in prayer and meditation.
you're premise that it controls people minds makes no sense. You'd be better to discuss what particular points of Christian theology you have issue with (and not actions of sinful Christians, but the actual theology).

Some bits of truth are in the bible but the bible was not written until 300 years after Jesus was raised to heaven. The bible if you read it is mostly opinions of men and has been changed to be "modren" time after time. The Quran on the other hand has NEVER been changed and will NEVER be changed try as some might they should know that it's hopeless. Now you might be woundering how i know th Quran isn't just stories. read it for your self http://www.harunyahya.com/Quran_translation/Quran_translation_index.php
there is lots of scientific facts that have been recently discovered(but God told us about them over 1400 years ago) and also logic.
hope this helps.

No. Bible was written by various authors who wrote over a period of 2000 yrs. You could do researches on ur own they will help u decide. But, for me I don't need proof I read the bible everyday and it's amazing how God talks to me thru his word. why not try reading it for a week regularly with an open mind. But hey! God doesn't hate u. It's the way other's put it. Why not try reading passages from isaiah (eg chap 49) or something. Check it out 4 urself.

No. No one believes Beowulf is true. The reason the bible is held true is that it is also supported by ancient tradition. Back when it was handed down by word of mouth it was taught by the early witnesses of the events contained. This gave serious weight to the contents. As it was handed down throughout the centuries and subsequently written down by SCHOLARS, the scriptures were held in high esteem by learned men. The problem with believing the veracity of the bible is not the contents of the Bible, but in the context of the reader. If you believe 1+1=2 then you can learn mathematics, never mind that you cannot logically prove that 1+1=2. You know it intuitively and accept it. So it is with belief in God. This is the core of the matter. Not whether you believe the Bible, but whether you believe in God.

I appreciate your question. I am currently studying Old Testament literature, specifically 1 & 2 Samuel. Frankly, there is no way that one individual could have written the Bible. The book of 2nd Samuel itself is so rich with allusions and literary structure that often gets overlooked when read in an English translation. Respectfully, my response to you is that it would be absolutely impossible for one person to write the text of the Bible in a short period of time. Its content suggests that the authors had specific knowledge of the political, social, and religious contexts in which they were writing. It is too much information for any one person to have.
