Most energy drinks are loaded with sugar and caffeine, which is bad for you. That's what gives you the "boost" then a "crash".
If you are concerned about your health, you may want to try something different such as a energy drink that does not have all the caffeine and sugar in it.
I drink an energy drink that is healthy for you, doesn't contain all the sugar and caffeine, works in 10-15 minutes after I drink it, and is much less expensive than most energy drinks. I have been drinking them daily for several months and I feel so much better. I have energy, feel really good, and I have much better mental clarity.
You can find them at www.carlshealthhelp.com/energy
There is also a picture on this website that actually shows all the sugar contained in some of the most popular energy drinks.

The majority of those energy drinks contain caffeine and lots of it. Some contain more caffeine that a regular can of soda.
As for the ones without caffeine, I'm not sure. My guess is that they still contain some bit of caffeine, but maybe not enough that requires them to put it on the label.
I would be careful of these drinks. Consuming too many soda's is bad enough for you, but add in the energy drinks, you may find yourself getting addicted to them quickly.

The "energy" drinks are made up of Sugar, Vitamins, and CAFFEINE... they will give you a "rush" and you will become more alert but like coffee and soda you will soon crash. The amount of caffeine in them is so high that it can cause health problems. As for giving you strength i don't believe they can do that unless you drink so much of it your whacked out and almost high. But I LOVE a Jager Bomb!! its a Jagermeister shot in a glass of redbull... smooth and yummy

Red Bull, Dark Scorpion, 4Play, NTDote, Bomba, etc. They are all very high in Caffeine and sugars. Disco fiends use them to dance the night away from midnight to 7am without sleeping. In excess you may be damaging your health....

to much caffeine is bad on your bladder and kidneys so the drinks are probably OK in moderates but heavy consumption could mean trouble
