OK... I know this is gonna make me sound horribly irresponisble and I guess I am or at least I was when I was in college. I opened up a checking account with a bank that offered Overdraft Protection. If you bounce a check - they cover it - you pay the bank the money. But, the evil bank manager refused to use my overdraft protection on a few bounced checks and I got stuck with several bounced check fees, etc. I got angry and stormed out of the bank and never paid them what I "owed" them because in my eyes I was screwed over by them. Needless to say, I was not considering the financial difficulties that would come later. Apparently, they've reported this to something other than my credit report - I've checked with all major credit bureaus but there is nothing listed. I can find no way to pay back my debts. I cannot open any new checking accounts with any other banks because of this. How can I make this go away - I need to be able to get a new bank account. Please Help!

You know my boyfriend had a similar issue. Lucky for him we opened up a joint bank account. There for I had unlimited use with my card but the bank put a lock on his. Gave him limited amount of with-drawls and overdraft. It was like this for year till he proved himself capable of not messing up. Believe it or not Banks do look to see if you have settled down. Sounds funny but its true. I had a really long talk with our bank manager and account manager both where full of use-full information.

Anyways... What the bank did is put your name in "Banks Private Data Base of bad, high risk offenders of improper Banking policies" I cant think of the correct term at the moment...... only the banks see it when pulling up a credit report. Basically your name has been flagged for improper banking. Banks should allow you a checking account with restrictions Ask if its possible to have NO overdraft and put on a temporary probation for 6 months. There are 3 banks who do this. They need to be Chartered.

I would meet again with the ACCOUNTS MANAGER (no one else they will be peronable with you and tell you step by step what to do) dont ask anyone else has to be Accounts......they will tell you how to fix this. Also Saving Accounts do come with checks ask about that also. They would temporally fix your problem till you have proved yourself Worthy in their eyes. ..... Later down the road since you started a repore... he/she will review your status and will be more then happy to change things for you down the road.

The only way to "make it go away" is to go to the bank and make good on your debt. Once you screw over a bank like that, they make your life very difficult and at times, worse than the credit bureaus.

Like Matt said, you are in the Chexsystems, which lasts for 5 years.
You might go to www.chexvictims.com
They have a great database of banks and credit unions that do not use Chex for new applicants.
