An intense ab workout will not help you attain your goal of a smaller waistline. This is again using the mythological belief that you can spot reduce fat, which you cannot. As for slimming and toning vs bulking, you get slimming and toning through a decrease consumption of calories while you get bulking from a increase consumption of calories. Your abs may be getting thicker and wider due to the increased muscle mass in the region from your "targeted" ab training. You are building the muscle under the fat. Drop the ab routine and only work the abs as part of your total routine.
Unfortunately there are no short cuts to good health and proper excercise. You just have to "eat right and work out" to reach your desired health goals and stick to it religiously.

I would be using an herbal supplement or somthing of the sort. It would give you the vitamins and minerals that your body needs while suppressing your diet so you just don't eat as much, therefore losing the weight fast and efficiently, yet safely and healthy. If you do what is best for your body, it will run like a well oiled machine and it will look fantastic too! E-mail me if you have any questions or if you want some reccomendations on what to use. You will see results in one month or less. I guarantee it!

You can do crunches on an exercise ball.. much better for your back and far more effective.. You will feel it in about two weeks if you stick with it. Anything worth something is hard work. Your body may not be responding to whatever you have been doing, you need to step it up.. get off the plateau.
Also, keep a watch on fattening foods and salty foods they will hinder your exercise big time. Good Luck hon summer is on the way:)

You dont lose fat in one area just by working it, you lose fat on the body as a whole. Fat just deposits in certain places. Keep working out and burn more calories than you take in. I went from 230 to 190 over 12 months i did sit ups, planks, and others everyday and i still don't have rippled abs because i like bad foods. Gotta burn more than you take in. Keep at it, good luck.

Losing fat around the stomach takes time. If you have a fat stomach, the only way you can reduce your fat is by doing aerobic exercises like walking, rowing and swimming. If such exercises are done regularly over a period of time, you will gradually lose weight. More details at http://www.toloseweight.org/losestomachf...

Foods like cheese stand out as among the most fat-laden, with a great number of calories coming from fat. But as important as it is to select the healthiest foods, it is also important to consider how they are prepared.
