Actually it's insecurity on Floyds part showing through, it's a huge fight for him, he knows DeLa Hoya will be the toughest opponent he ever faced, and he's overcompensating for his very normal and very real concern about his ability to do what is necessary to win the fight. Gut check time is a scary moment in any body's life, even Floyd's. May 5th will end the debate once and for all and we will know.
Blogbaba has always said that Oscar was smart enough to hire Floyd Sr. years ago just to prepare for a potential Floyd Jr. fight. It is entirely possible that Oscar will beat Floyd and he's not feeling like his usual invincible pound for pound self. Interesting psychology leading up to this one.

OH crimony, don't fall for this promotional crap. It's all about separating gullible people from their cash. The nickname "Mexican assassin" is sometimes used to encourage a demographic to buy payperviews. I think Pernell Whitaker was given that nickname for the months before he whipped Chavez. Bernard Hopkins trashed a Puerto Rico flag, tossed beans and rice at his opponent, and protested a Hispanic referee to encourage likewise ethnicities to "pay up and watch racist Hopkins lose to heroic Trinidad. B HOP later admitted it was just showmanship.
Take a look at your statement..you call Mayweathers antics a pitiful attempt, yet you STILL are inclined to cheer on Wusscar Del Annoy-ya. So even tho you realize that it is all just an act, you are still swayed by it.
At least when professional wrestlers do this stuff, they make no bones about it being an act. I can respect that more than what you see in boxing.

Mayweather's father is not training De La Hoya. De La Hoya is being trained for the moment by Freddie Roach. De La Hoya let Mayweather Sr. go so that Prettyboy wouldn't have any hopes of beating the man that was trained by his father.

what floyd's father does as a trainer has absolutely nothing to do with oscar or floyd's career or relationship...floyd has always hammed it up and this will be the last big payday for both these fighters...who probably wish this fight goes over good so they can do it again...oscar got a set up gift getting mayorga, he of the big mouth and little boxing skills (preferring to slug), this fight should come off a lot like the mosely fights, shane handled oscar handily in both fights although hes a natural welterweight (which his last fight proved) with his boxing skill and speed, this fight will be no different...look for floyd to be circling away from oscar at the end of exchanges avoiding oscars only weapon, his left hook...toward the end of the fight floyd should be beating oscar to the punch easily from the outside and inside...both will probably retire after this fight

mayweather builds every fight up like this, it's just for show and hype, whether or not the fight needs it...i think he just likes to listen to himself show off and talk about how he's going to bust the other guy up
