Yes, you can take them together. I was prescribed that combination for TMJ pain several years ago. Remember that Norflex is a controlled release medication; don't crush it or chew it.

In theory, yes, but mixing any drugs should be approached very cautiously. Vicodin is a synthetic opiate aimed at pure pain relief, whereas norflex is a muscle relaxant. You should be mindful of the possible synergistic effect, as the combination could really knock you out. Its all too easy to do this when you really hurt, but it could suppress your breathing at the peak between the two if you went overboard and you'll definitely be rather clumsy!
Some of it depends on the dosage and how big you are. Larger people have a slightly larger dose-response curve with some drugs and can handle a bit more, but don't think that more is better. There is an upward limit to what your body can absorb in any given time frame. "More" may be wasted or hurt you because you can only trigger the receptor sites in your brain by so much; then they must re-set. Therefore, take the listed dose seriously, even if you still hurt. Ask your doctor where the curve lies on it as well. S/he may up the dose or frequency of dosing a bit.
Just stick to the plan, stay on the couch religiously, do NOT take in alcohol with it and above all, give it time. That's hard to do, I know, as I was in a car wreck and saw Vicodin as MY PAL for a while, heh. Just step lightly with that idea and be realistic; its not aspirin and there's a definite balance between benefit and overkill. Hope ya feel better soon.
