It would be better so substitute another white bean if you have it available. Kidney beans will have a stronger flavor.

Sure, cannellini beans are just white kidney beans, so if you don't mind the difference, I say go for it.

Cannellini beans ARE kidney beans, just the white variety.....I like them better, they aren't quite as hard as typical red kidney beans........Enjoy!!!
