If you ever sit still, and listen to your thoughts, you will be so glad no one else can hear them. All day and night, judgements, curse words, paranoia, delusions of grandeur, and catty remarks that we poison ourselves with. Most of us are so unconscious of it, we let some of it spill right out of our mouths. Don't take it personally. It just makes people feel important and/or superior to judge each other wrong.

Good question. I've been faced with that many times, myself. It's a most curious personality trait some people have. I think it might have something to do with the superiority complex and the phenomenon of assumptions. Try not to let it get to you. Keep asking for the advice. At some point you're going to come across someone on the same ground who appreciates where you're coming from, having been there and done that themself.

You are kidding.
I can't believe people sometimes, if it was important and a business, depending on if you are case sensitive call back and get another persons opinion.
It hurts my feeling, and I turn into a ragging ball of fur. The Grizzly
Then I go roller blading to let it go and pray, because the other day down hill I bit it, but I did get rid of my technical problem my CD, was under the car, :) not me. (that time)

Because a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. They forget how they were once unknowing as you.
There is no reason to be rude in answering and yet they do. I blame it on the anonymity of the internet. It allows for that to happen and yet without recourse to them.

Interesting question. I work software support. Most often, the short answer is that the person asking for advice has not done their homework. Typically, gurus do not suffer fools gladly.
Here's something to think about:
Did you do your homework? Did you try to solve the problem on your own?
If I asked you for trace log files, did you look at them before you sent them to me? Did you try to analyze the situation and solve the problem on your own?
Bottom line, WAY too many people seem to dump their problems on support without doing "due diligence" and trying to resolve the problem on their own using google and other knowlege bases. If support asks you for trace logs it is your responsibility to review those logs and try to solve your own problem before you send them.

Hmmm...like technical advice for how to reboot a computer's hard drive or technical advice on how to navigate your way in a threesome?
I suppose it depends on what your "technical" question might be.

Smart nerds think it is easy to fix. They pass judgement because they can use things really easily. Just ignore the assholes.
