Love the Lord your God with all your heat, mind, soul and body. It's not hard after all He first loved us. And in loving Him there is more freedom that you could ever imagine.

The first commandment is that you must have no other God except YHWH (transliterated "LORD" in most modern bibles)You must not bow down to another god, nor be induced to serve them.

The command was actually given to Israelites- but in acceptable worship today, the rule still applies. However, it only applies to an individual personally if they want their worship to be acceptable to the God of the bible. If that is what a person wants, then that is what God requires. If a person does not care if he or she is acceptable to YHWH, then they can worship any god they want. YHWH will not force anyone to worship him-
He is all about free will.

Now one of the scribes ... asked him: “Which commandment is first of all?”

Jesus answered:
“The first is, ‘Hear, O Israel, Jehovah our God is one Jehovah,
and you must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind and with your whole strength.’

The second is this, ‘You must love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

There is nothing unreasonably constricting in either of those.
They both offer plenty of freedom, within Bible principles that are dexigned for everyone's benefit.

"This is what Jehovah has said, your Repurchaser, the Holy One of Israel: “I, Jehovah, am your God, the One teaching you to >benefit< [yourself], the One causing you to tread in the way in which you should walk. ... If you would actually pay attention to my commandments ... your peace would become just like a river, your righteousness like the waves of the sea. Your offspring would become just like the sand, and the descendants from your inward parts like the grains of it. One’s name would not be cut off or be annihilated from before me." -- (saiah 48:17-19)

"All Scripture is inspired of God and >beneficial< for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work." -- 2 Timothy 3:16,17

Everyone is, however, given Free Will.

That there are consequences for going against one's best interests is not a bad thing. This merely provides additional motivation to choose the course of true happiness, while protecting those who do.

"The love of God means that we observe his commandments, yet his commandments are not burdensome, because everything that has been born from God conquers the world." --John 5:3,4

Absolutely.
Look at Israel and the judges. When GOD was their king they were served by GOD. Then they wanted a human king and they ended up serving the human king. There is great freedom in being a Child of GOD.

No god has given any commandment. They don't exist. Gods are just superstition.

Now, if you're talking about the various storybook characters in the hundreds of religions people have believed throughout the ages, you'll have to specify which one you're talking about and which is interpretted by you as the "first commandment".

YES.

All it commands is "belief in God."

It doesn't specify if/how/why:

you believe,
you perceive,
you rationalize,
you personify or
any other means that a person might use to
get a handle on the whole concept of "God."
