probably cavemen had some primitive form of god or gods to explain things that they could not.

Christians can't stand to hear anything different from what they've been force fed all these years. From cradle to grave you will continue to believe without question, a book that was written by people that thought the earth was flat, and that burning bushes could talk. That, and that alone, proves your all nuts. I would hate to live a life brainwashed by that kind of belief system. It's an ancient form of Scientology. "Give me your money and I will show you salvation".
I wipe my *** with your racist, homophobic, violent god, and the book of lies that accompanies your beliefs.
The only one that was remotely close to the truth was bminor, and that's sad considering his previous answers. Before Akhenaten, the world was inhabited by a polytheistic system of gods and goddesses. All Christians owe a debt of gratitude to Akhenaten for his role in helping to establish the religion you hold so dearly today. If not for him you'd still be worshiping the sun, moon, wind, and stars.

The belief in God(s) goes back into prehistory, so I don't think anyone can really say for sure. The modern monotheistic view of god started in Egypt with Pharaoh Akhenaten around 1352 B.C. .
Truth hurts.

God is, and He's much more then an Idea.
God told Moses about His Creations.
God used the hand of Moses to write Genesis
the first book of the Bible.
God is God. :-)

God talked to Adam and Eve. Actually the first one to know of Him was Himself than Satan (Lucifer) and all His Angels. Than Adam and Eve and so on and so forth. God talked to people and than He was born through Mary and died on the cross and the whole time He spoke the gospel.
