listing? This guy emailed me, the email showed his last name, I did white pages and got a listing for he and a woman's name (I presume his ex wife). He says he is divorced several years. He never mentions what happened with his marriage, never mentions the ex and their child was raised by him (his lives with him at this time and this guys lives in the same house he would have had about the time he married (the years he said he has lived in the house is the same as the number of years he said he was married plus the time since the divorce. We met once and he wanted to meet during the day. He took off early from work rather than come after work. He lives some distance away but it's not that far (30-40 miles). I am not interested in this guy as he isn't my type but he still writes so I write him back just to be friendly. It does make me wonder though if he isn't still married. Wouldn't you take your name off a phone listing if you were no longer with your ex?

That guy is married. Stop all contact with him, you don't owe it to him to be friendly.

I personally have had a close call with ID theft, so, when I had a land line, I was pretty vigilant about keeping my number unlisted. If I did have a phone I shared with someone at one time, I definitely would've ensured that person's name was removed from the phone number account if s/he no longer used it. However, I wouldn't place too much value on the phone listing, especially if you're not interested in the guy. I use the online white pages at work daily, & I find at least one incorrect listing per day. I think quite a few of the phone-listing companies probably get at least some of their information from public records and other sources of info that are updated by people/companies that have higher priorities & therefore aren't always current.

On a few side notes, he might have received the house in his divorce settlement, while his ex received something of adequate value (car, money, etc.). If his divorce was years ago, he may not be mentioning it simply because he doesn't see the past as information that is relevant to the friendship between you. It's also possible that he wanted to meet during the day to keep the meeting from seeming too much like a date. Just some thoughts!

It is for the same reason that my dead uncle of ten years is still in the phonebook. My old address of five years is still in the book. You have to go to whitepages.com to put in your new information or excite. where there are also whitepages. Is his name still on the house they owned? That could tell something!

Still has feelings, just hasn't bothered to take it off, for emergency contact about his child. Yes I would if we had a child or I still had feelings for him but otherwise no.

You obviously cant trust him, tell him you will stop writing to him if he doesnt tell you the truth, then if he doesnt, cease contact with him
