From Wikipedia:
In the Roman Catholic Church it is tradition to abstain from meat every Friday for the duration of Lent, although fish and dairy products are still permitted. On Ash Wednesday it is customary to fast for the day, with no meat, eating only one full meal, and if necessary, two small meals also.

Eat what you wish.

Fried Pumpkin Blossoms, you will think you are eating porkchops! Just wash, dust with flour and grill in a little low fat oleo till brown. We never have meat and Blossoms at the same meal. They are delicious!

Vatican says: no meat on Good Friday or Ash Wednesday. Any other day over Easter is fine by them to eat meat, they say it is a personal/cultural choice.

Try vegetarian lasagna, it is so tasty.
