God isn't limited by the physical laws that He has placed over matter in his creation. For one thing, He exists outside of time and He knows the future. That's why in one passage He says:

Isaiah 65:24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

As to how long it actually takes for God's will to be done on earth, it all depends upon Him.

2 Peter 3:8 But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

You will know when His will is done because He will return in the sky to take up his believers and judge the world. Than a new heaven and a new earth will be made.

One day we'll all hear the trumphet of His return. Every eye shall see and every knee shall bow. Don't know the exact verse.

God hears your prayers instantly if there is no seperation (sin seperates us from God like a big wedge between two people)

If we were to put a time on when God's will would be done, then it would no longer be God's will, but ours.
