Stand Out!

Aren't we christians supposed to stand out? We need to be heard, even if we have SHOUT.... We need to be above the crowd not going along with the flow, but trying to force our way upstream.

How about we all pray that christians from all over the world will begin to stand out, and let people know that we are christians? God won't truly bless this nation with us on the sidelines...

How many will agree to begin to pray for leaders to rise up in these last days? Also, how many will agree to pray that those of us who aren't neccesarily leaders, can stand up for our faith?

I feel as though I am meant to be a leader. Will you also pray for me,that God will reveal His will to me?

I most certainly can and will pray for you. We as Christians are supposed to be 'set apart', noticeably different than what the world has to offer.
Not just better morals, or cleaner living or treating others better. We are supposed to be recognizably altered in our nature. From natural human, to Spirit imbued, Spirit fed and led humans being here on earth changing the world to a better place for all of God's creation.

I fully believe that all of this earth, and it's inhabitants ought to be better off for our living in it. We are supposed to be the good which overcomes evil.

As an agnostic, trust me, I know perfectly well that lots of people in power claim to be Christian.

I'm reminded of it every day when my tax money goes to support a 'faith-based initiative.'

I'm reminded of it every day that my gay friend at law school gets harrassed by people, particularly when we discuss stuff like Lawrence v. Texas.

I'm reminded of it every day that I hear people who will be lawyers, one day deciding our country's jurisprudential fate, talking about how they think social conservatism is awesome (and yet denounce socially conservative Muslims.)

I'm reminded of it every day I get in my car (here in Indiana) and drive behind someone who feels that they're such good Christians, they got an 'In God we trust' license plate, because it's their way or the highway (literally).

The rest of the world knows that bad Christians are out there and like to stand out from the crowd.

Try showing that good Christians are out there. Start by showing love and compassion, and not by separating yourself from the rest of humanity, and not by fighting society. Act /as/ you believe, not /on/ your beliefs.
