Is this so? Do the States search vehicles that cross state lines along the Interstates?

They will not check vehicles crossing state lines unless you do something wrong and give them reasonable cause. states that run along the borders with border patrol do occasionally do random checks and searches. if you are in one of these states you MUST stop at the checkpoints and unless you give them reasonable cause all they will do is verify that you are a US citizen and send you on your way.

Having crossed the state lines a number of times on vacations, I can say no. Unless they have a reason to do so, such as there is an APB out on the vehicle in question.

you're remarkable, the U. S. is one vast usa and crossing State traces isn't a issue. There are rules bearing directly to crossing State line jointly as enticing in a criminal offense yet that must be a protracted e mail. so a procedures as Police crossing State traces, the pursuing authority could call forward to the State in touch and notify that State authority of their pursuit. in spite of the fact that the authority ends on the State line the "regulation of warm Pursuit" enables them to proceed the chase. The criminal could be arrested via the authority of the State the place the chase ended and became over to the pursuing State authority. nearby Police are given their authority via each State. i.e. A Police Officer in long island city is likewise a Peace Officer in long island State. He/She has no authority in the different State. The FBI, on the different hand, has Federal authority by the U. S.. wish this solutions your question.
