i have a 9 year old male cat and i think he has an eye infection his right side eye is covered in a red thin skin its all over his eye.wenever i open his eye more of the red skin pops out looks really nasty please help.

I don't really know if it is an eye infection, but I feel bad for your cat! I would just take him to the vet so that he can get some medicine. I hope he's okay!

Cats do have an additional eye lid and that is likely what you are seeing. though it is normally a white/pink color. the fact that it is red is concerning. get him to a vet to make sure as you dont want your cat to go blind or worse have an infection spread when it could have been quick to deal with.

I have delt with this before. I know it will sound strange, but my vet suggested I use a black tea bag in warm water and use the tea bag to clean off the eye and around it. I swear it cleanses it and helps it to heal. But if you really think it's bad, call your vet.
