I have wondered how He came up with these numbers. I know that 777 is good and 666 is bad (satan and mans number).

I read my bible and it is so sad that many do not. I'm not here to criticize. Why do people get so hostile over an issue such as this?

I think the Bible has many hidden things in it and God definitely uses repitition in the Bible since He loves order so much. Some people have said that since 6 is the number of man then using it three times represents the unholy trinity: Satan, the Anti-Christ, and the False Prophet. This is just one form of explanation but you can never know, the Bible is full of so many mysteries and since it's inspired by God those things hidden are really hard to figure out until they finally happen and are revealed. But God uses order, He created this universe in order and with laws, those laws hold things together, and for some unknown reason He thinks different numbers represent different things. 12 tribes of Judah, 12 disciples. The Godhead has 3 persons, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. so much repitition of numbers, but it's all too big for me to figure out. I think I'll just humbly go back to my daily bread in the morning and pray and read His word waiting for His voice to speak to me.

Awesome question by the way :)

Oh side note.... don't expect great answers from people who sit answering questions on the internet all day. not to sound mean, but... we're not experts in anything, cuz instead of studying something deeper and getting to know it, we're stuck in white or blue collar jobs answering yahoo questions to show to the world "yes! we have a voice" and "yes! I think my opinion matters" haha. I'm really not trying to be mean here, its just hilarious how we all are.... we think we have a grasp on everything but our greatest wisdom is foolishness in the eyes of God. Don't feel bad when you get negative comments to this question, be encouraged. Here is why you shouldn't be discouraged:

"Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you." Matthew 7:6

sounds really mean I know... but how can you expect them to understand. We can't, it's foolishness to them. But instead of acting like a cool club, our hearts should break and our love for the lost should increase :) alright, I've answered enough of this question, haha. Time to go try and validate my worth and try and gain a false sense of accomplishment by answering more yahoo questions :) hopefully God can use even this.

7 was considered the number of perfection or completeness. This probably came because on the seventh day of the creation week everything was finished or complete.

Sinse 7 represented complete, 6 was less than perfect or incomplete.

When a number was repeated three times it showed emphasis, so 777 was considered to show ultimate perfection.

Likewise 666 emphasized being incomplete or imperfect, so this number shows the ultimate in evil. A person characterized by this number was far away from the standard that they should strive for in every area of their life!

New heard that 777 was God's number or a good number. I know that Biblically 7 is a number of completion or perfection (example 7 days of creation), but never heard of 777. As for 666, that number is associated with the anti-christ / beast. I never heard that 666 was man's number. Do you have Bible references for this?

666 means 6th trump, 6th seal and 6th vial - 777 means 7th trump, 7th seal and 7th vial. The numbers describe the return of Antichrist and Jesus Christ. When God give the word to Archangel Michael, Antichrist will be released from his chains and will come to this Earth claiming to be Jesus. He is the great deceiver and he will convince many people that he is the Messiah because of the false teachings of many pastors, i.e. rapture theory that was created in 1800 s. In my opinion it was Satan s influence. Now the Word of God is being changed in new versions of the Bible. Those that change, leave out, or misinterpret the Word of God be very careful. It clearly states in the Bible a grave consequence. Anyway, after 5 months on this Earth (was originally 3 1/2 years but God shortened the time because not even God s Elect could withstand that long with Antichrist) Christ returns. Those that have followed the false messiah immediately realize their mistake. Many people think that they will be raptured away and that Satan will be all scary and evil. Not even close. Read your Bible. He will be beautiful - he was afterall the most beautiful of God s Angels and most powerful. He will give you everything you desire. All you have to do is follow him. He is afterall supernatural and will perform miracles and thus deceiving many that are ignorant of God s Word. Please don t be ignorant. Read the King James Bible.

I know the number 666 is the number of a man as stated in revelation. But i have never run across the number 777. But i do know that the number 7 in biblical numerics means spiritual completeness. I take that back. Christ returns at the 7th trump and at the 7th seal and at the 7th vial, ergo 777 . So ugh on my face eh?

Actually, 666 isn't the number of the devil, as many incorrectly believe. It's the mark of the wild beast, which is completely different from the Devil, and signifies imperfection, abnormality or something monstrous. (Revelation 13:18; compare 2 Samuel 21:20)

God's number isn't 777! The number 7 signifies completeness of purpose, either God's or Satan's. (Revelation 1:4,12,16; 4:5; 5:1,6; 10:3,4; 12:3)

Revelation is an example of apocalyptic literature. apocalyptic literature (defined) - a type of literature characterized by symbols;
7 elements of apocalyptic literature
1) Jewish or Christian literature
2) written in hard times
3) under oppression forgien domination
4) in symbolic language
5) to encourage God's people
6) by showing God was in charge
7) & that evil would be overthrown

Other books of the Bible containing apocalyptic literature: Isiah, Daniel, Zachariah, & Ezekiel

Significance of Numbers in Revelation
1 = the idea of unity or independent existence
2 = represents strength, confirmation, for doubled courage & energy
3 = divine thought; spirituality; divine power
3.5 = incompleteness, depair, confusion (1/2 of 7)
4 = represents 4 points on compass
5 = a perfect man (i.e. one who has all his members {fingers & toes})
6 = imperfection, defeat, falling short of salvation, within a stroke of destruction
7 = salvation, completeness; NOTE - this is 3 (Godhead) + 4 (earth)
10 = symbol of earthly power
12 = represents the complete # of the saved; (the Godhead -3 times the earthly number - 4) (example - the 12 tribes of Isreal & the 12 elders

666 - is the number of imperfection, defeat, falling short of salvation, & within a stroke of destruction repeated 3 times & since 3 represents divine power - this is the ULTIMATE in sin (which literally means to "miss the mark") or the ULTIMATE in imperfect spiritualness;

Since 6 & 7 are opposites, 777 is the oppositte of 666.
