because the only things they know about evolution they learned from creationist propaganda written by people who have no understanding of evolution....it is just a vicious cycle of misinformation.

One, most Americans probably don't really understand the evolution theory. Two, many educated theists do understand and are able, through reinterpretation and rationalization, to live with both a belief in a God and the idea of a common ancestor. I think this comment would be best directed to Creationists (especially Fundamentalist Christians). I think the reason is, most of the Creationist debaters who are educated, know they're presenting a straw man, but it helps their flock which is less educated, and if it's good enough to satisfy them, then the straw man stands. It's not important to such people to treat the argument effectively, but to maintain one's faith in the Bible. Your goal is to understand a scientific theory. They're goal is to believe and promote the Bible and their religion. Both sides approach with different goals. I think that's the underlying problem.

That is what the theory of evolution says. But that theory is a huge house of cards built upon fanciful thinking. There is no evidence that a fish can "evolve" into an amphibian which can "evolve" into a reptile which can "evolve" into a mammal. Random chance plus genetic mutations don't add vast amounts of useful information to the DNA of any animal, they only change information that is already present and in most cases the change is harmful.

Natural selection explains how one species can evolve different characteristics within it's own species but it cannot explain one phylum of creature "evolving" into another separate phylum.

*Charles Darwin, always ready to come up with a theory about everything, explains how the "monstrous whale" originated:

"In North America the black bear was seen by Hearne swimming for hours with widely open mouth, thus catching, like a whale, insects in the water. Even in so extreme a case as this, if the supply of insects were constant, and if better adapted competitors did not already exist in the country, I can see no difficulty in a race of bears being rendered, by natural selection, more and more aquatic in their structure and habits, with larger and larger mouths, till a creature was produced as monstrous as a whale."—*Charles Darwin, The Origin of Species (1859 and 1984 editions), p. 184.

>>Why can't you moronic theists understand we did not evolve from monkeys, we evolved from a common ancestor!<<

I understand we evolved from a common ancestor, but I've seen posts from ATHEISTS along the lines of, "Hey, you moronic theists, why can't you accept we came from monkeys?!"

Isn't it common theistic belief that we evolved from incestual reletions? Perhaps you mean "A"theists? Who is moronic here? Oh, that's what I thought. As one post states earlier, we should look to Chaka, Sa or Ta. Tasa Urah!! Ogansa Besassa!

I don't have a problem with that. The question really is more about who or what the 'common ancestor' actually is.

Yup. Homo erectus. If I remember correctly, Astrolopithicus was the very first one. Eventually there were two species of humans alive, the Homo erectus and the Homo sapien. Homo sapiens, however, had innovation, and unfortunately, killed out all the Homo erectus.

so much hate and anger. Hate never solved anything(long term wise). Stop generalizing and let's pick up a book, some books are very good for they help us in our quest to eradicate ignorance. Namaste.
