To be healthy you need to change your perspective of what the word diet means. Most people think diet means to temporary lose weight. But the definition of diet is what you eat, which could be good or it could be bad. A diet is a lifetime adventure.
We exercise not to look good but instead to feel good.
So instead of focusing on losing weight, focus on living a healthy lifestyle, eat what is healthy and avoid what is not. It is that simple.
Also, the human body is design to be active. That is why the obesity rate is so high in America; most people here avoid anything physical.
My secret is not my food consumption, i.e. a Diet.
My secret is physical activity. Every week I do something. Walk 3 miles, jog 5 miles, rock climbing, hiking. At a minimum do something physical every other day. Even if it is just walking around the block.

The concept of losing weight within a predetermined time limit is how fat people think. Do not think like a fat person. Think like a thin person. And that is how do I maintain my ability to not get fat for the rest of my life.

Health and longevity is not given, you must earn it.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter your stats, take 300-400 calories off that number and that's how much you need to lose weight.
5-8servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water a day
5-6 small meals instead of 3 big ones (breakfast is the most important - make sure to get complex carbs like whole wheat bread, oatmeal, fruit etc)
4-6 times a week cardio for 30-50min, light weight training, many reps
no junk food, no sodas, no alcohol, no white flour (cakes, cookies, white bread, pasta etc.), nothing high in sugar (ice cream)

Eat healthier, and maybe go running or exercise at home.
It's been proven that exercising or running with friends will increase your chances of losing.

Best of Luck,

Katie
