assisted suicide is not right in any circumstance- even though I would be the first to say, I do not like people to have to suffer. If this became legal- it would start with the elderly "who probably will not recover"which we cannot judge anyway- then it would be assisted suicide for people who are disabled, or for any other reason. This is the same as abortion becoming legal, just in the case of danger to the mom- that is only about 1% of abortions. I still think both of these are spiritually wrong- no matter the circumstances. Who are we to play God- God gives life, and He alone can take a life. Sanctity of life- no matter in the womb or near the end of a person's life.
For the person who mentioned Morphine- of course pain meds should be given- but when Euthanasia is mentioned that means assisted suicide not just medication to help with pain.

That's one of those questions that people can disagree on but shouldn't divide over. On the one hand there are the "die hards" (excuse the pun) who say that you should never give up hope that God might provide a miraculous healing or who say that only God should be the one to decide when it is a person's time to pass from this earth.
On the other hand you have people who point out that the Bible doesn't prohibit a person taking their own life and that if God didn't want the person to die from euthanasia then He could intervene and make sure that it didn't happen.

Human beings are meant to die eventually. Its very strange to me that certain "Christian" people behave as if this were not so.
The fact that science has advanced enough to keep people's bodies alive for long periods of time, even when they are suffering continually and wasting away does not change that fact.
Medicine is a gift that is meant to end, or at least lessen suffering and extend our healthy life spans. Not grant eternal life. Keeping someone here on this Earth to make ourselves feel better seems horribly selfish to me, especially when that person is in horrible pain that is unlikely to ever end. Why would God want that?

If a person you love is suffering with cancer and you do not give them morph ine that is just abuse.Eventually morphin shuts the body down,I had to do that for my mom.I did not feel it was euthanasia, she begged for help and wanted us to find Kevorkian for her.I am a christian, and now my sister is dying of bone cancer,I will not let her suffer. She also has mental illness, let me ask how would other Christians deal with this.I believe God gave science wisdom to create medication to help with pain.I say use it to help those that are suffering.

I work in the medical field and I see a lot of people who suffer needlessly and have to endure losing their dignity before their time finally comes. No one should have to go through that.
If they want to go I think they should be able to. Everyone deserves to die with dignity and put an end to their own suffering.

No. Murder is wrong. All life is precious and only God is the one who decides life and death. Besides, look at it this way. If you let a person live instead of killing him, he always can have a slim chance to miraculously recover somehow. People with terminal diseases have sometimes been known to live and be cured. However, if you euthanize them, the chance of survival will be zero.

No. If you agree to euthanasia, how long is it before you start killing anyone with a disease or disability? It's the first step on a downward path.

I know it's morally wrong to make people suffer endless pain that you wouldn't put a dog through in order to fulfill your own, or someone else's, selfish notions. This statement wasn't directed at you, as I don't know you views on this.
