No contradiction, Dwayne. They harmonize with Job14:13; Eccl. 3:19; and Eccl. 9:5,10, too. I congratulate you on your astute Bible reading. As Jesus' explanation regarding his friend, Lazarus, showed, death is simply a sleep; a waiting to be awakened from death. ( John 11:11)
When you think about it, this explains the resurrection and why King David was still in the grave, according to Jesus example to the Jewish leaders.

Hebrews 6:1,2 says:For this reason, now that we have left the primary doctrine about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying a foundation again, namely, repentance from dead works, and faith toward God, Â the teaching on baptisms and the laying on of the hands, the resurrection of the dead and everlasting judgment.
Among the things that Paul mentions as part of the very foundation of Christian beliefs is the Resurrection of the dead. Consider this question: Why would persons who were still alive need to be resurrected? If their souls never died but passed on to life in heaven or hell, where would the resurrection come in? Since the resurrection is a primary teaching all Christians should have a clear understanding of it.
Yes the scriptures you cite clearly state that there will be a ressurection. This is a primary teaching of the true christian faith.

Daniel 12:2 is speaking of a future time, after the 1,000 year reign of Christ has ended and those who fail to pass the final test, will be destroyed with no hope of a future Resurrection.
John 5:28, 29 is talking about this 1,000 year reign of Christ, when Jesus will Resurrect most of the people who have died here on earth and give them an opportunity to learn what God's will and purpose is, and give them the hope of living forever on the Paradise Earth they woke up to.
Acts 24:15 again, speaking of the 1,000 year reign of were those who have died will be Resurrected and giving the opportunity to live forever.

Try also reading Ecclesiastes 9:5,10 and Ezekiel 18:4, I have been trying to get people to understand that when we die, we no longer exist and must rely on God to be resurrected back to life, we do not have an immortal soul. God's word says that God alone is immortal. If you read in both Revelation and Psalms you will find that only so many go to heaven for a purpose and the rest who gain everlasting life will live on earth forever. If your interested, email me.

Yes, the dead stay dead and in the tomb.
To be absent from the flesh, is to be present with the Lord. Once your flesh dies, its done with. It knows nothing. Its gone.
The person who died is not there. They have stepped into their spiritual body, and are with God. Doesn't matter if they were good or bad, all flesh that dies goes to the dirt; the soul returns to God who owns it.
It is necessary because good or bad that person is to be judged, so they need to return to God in order for that to happen.
As in your example of Daniel, at that time, when this age comes to a close, and Christ returns, some of the "dead", although in their spiritual body, will be awakened - or "enlightened" to the fact that even though they are in a spiritual body, they still have a mortal soul, in other words, they realize they could still die in the second death, which is the death of the soul. Others will be awakened to the fact that they have put on spiritual bodies which are everlasting.
So some very happy souls and some very upset souls will be present at that time.
When Christ was crucified, and bodies came up out of tombs, that was a one-time deal to bring to the attention of the people that they had just murdered the Christ.
But that event will not transpire again. The flesh body to the dirt; the soul to God. thats whats written in the Texts.

Jesus reigns for a thousand years either here or in heaven-this is the first ressurection-and is mentioned in Rev.- then after the 1000 years the rest of the dead are raised and then the punishment is handed out- I do not believe that hell is forever- but to those in it - it may seem that way-as far as everybody going- the Bible also tells us that 3/4 of this world dies-----hummmm

When a person dies, they are in Sh'eol (Hebrew) or Ha'des (Greek), the common grave of mankind.
Or, in other words, the ground. After all, "the dead are conscious of nothing." They are, in a sense, asleep in death, awaiting the "resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous."

When a Christian dies they go into a sleeping state. After Christ comes back for the second time all of the dead will rise. The Christians will immediately ascend into heaven. The nonbelievers will be put through a trial type situation. Hope that helped. God Bless.

Dan 12:2 "Many of those who sleep in the dust of the ground will awake, these to everlasting life, but the others to disgrace {and} everlasting contempt.
Jhn 5:28 "Do not marvel at this; for an hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs will hear His voice,
Jhn 5:29 and will come forth; those who did the good {deeds} to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil {deeds} to a resurrection of judgment.
Act 24:15 having a hope in God, which these men cherish themselves, that there shall certainly be a resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
These are places that people go to when they die:
Hades (Sheol) - a place of punishment for the unrighteous.
Hades (Paradise) - a place where the righteous went after death
Hell - A place of punishment (the Lake of Fire)
Heaven - God's home
----------------
Hades (Paradise) was were the Old Testament saints went after they died. It was also called Abrahams Bosom. When Jesus was on the cross, he told the thief "Today, you will be in Paradise".
In the parable of Lazarus, you see that a certain man died and went to Hades (Sheol) where he experienced torment, pain, thirst, memory of his unrighteous family, memory of the beggar Lazarus. He saw Abraham and was able to recognize him and talk with him.
Sheol (in my opinion) is where the unbelievers (in Jesus) and the unrighteous go after they die.
Hell - The lake of Fire - is empty. It will be filled with the souls that are in Sheol after the Judgement of God. The fallen angels, demons and Satan, will also occupy Hell.
Heaven - Is the home of God. It was filled with the Old Testament Saints following the resurrection of Jesus (after He acended, He came back and liberated the dead) 500 people in Jerusalem that were dead came back to pick up their bodies.
