Reading through the comments previously made, I would like to point out that:

1. obesity is NOT hereditary
2. the people with glandular problems are a minute fraction of a percentage of population.
3. if the doctor was all that clever, (s)he would not be overweight.
4. I totally agree with the comment about smoking - it is hard to look intellegent with a cigarete in your mouth..

An overweight doctor means that they do not understand the extreme importance between what we eat and the quality of our health. Therefore, how will they take care of your health if they cannot take care of their own? A doctor like this, in my experience, is quick on the drug presciption, but know nothing about prevention or controlling illness by lifestyle changes.

Doctors are like politicians - they should lead by example, but the example that many set is not very good.

Just because he's fat doesn't mean he didn't go to medical school for chrissakes! You're really fecking ignorant. How about you get your superficial head out of your a s s and stop judging everyone based on their appearance. What's next, not trusting a bank teller because she isn't wealthy? You make NO sense! Even if the doctor IS fat they are far better educated and know far more about disease states than you ever will.

i know an obese doctor is still a doctor, but i couldn't trust any preventative or lifestyle advise they were to give. but hey if i have a rash they could deal with that. I wouldn't trust an overweight gym instructor either, or dietitian, or a skin specialist with bad skin. Sorry but if it's what your selling you need to believe in it.

Yes just b/c he/she is fat doesn't mean they are not intelligent. Often people do what is not good for them (such as drink, eat, or engage in other behaviors in excess) even at the cost of their health. Also they may have a legitimate thyroid problem or be taking some other meds that make it hard to control weight.

I knew an obese doctor who was very smart. It was just hard to take lifestyle advise from him, especially when he told his patients to lose weight.

just because someone is obese, does not mean they don't know their job. he could have a glandular problem, or just doesn't follow his own advice. the fact that he is overweight does not make him any less smart....
