I don't get it. Life's not always bad, although it can get ugly, and sometimes people kill themselves over pretty stupid things.

According to his friends, he was "an real hero" to kill himself over a minor bullying incident, and a stolen iPod.
Do people commit suicide out of a void in materialism, or a void in spirituality?

oddly, it's done to "show them" i'll show you! i'll show you all! HA HA HA. But the joke is kind of on them, cause they don't yet realize the finality of thier action, they won't see the look on the kids face as he feels guilty now for bullying him. So you've thrown your life away to make one kid feel guilty for 5 min if he even cares or hears because he picked on you. tragic.
Suicide is also done in emulation of a hero, you may hear of these mass suicides, there's a few varieties fitting similar molds. 1. Kurt Cobain, there was a star in the 80's too, they kill themself and fans (who dress and act like them) take that step too in ultimate emulation of thier hero. There as also a 16th century poet who killed himself when his girl left him. So teenage boys eversince have had a habit of reading these suicidal love stiries and killing themselves in emulation of the character.
The idea of emulating a hero is also seen in the current epidemic of suicide bombers. Killing themselves again for martyrdom or even popularity, like the young nirvana fan who acts like kurt to be cool all the way to death, the suicide bombers want the respect and recognition deserved of these heroes, in thier mind, but again don't realize they can't enjoy any of that dead. Tragic.

I am someone who has suffered from depression. I know how black it can seem. The insidious thing about depression is you feel its so hopeless there is no use in even trying. Getting help is very difficult.
When you get in that kind of funk you feel like its not going to get better and it can be unbearable. I also think, especially with younger people, that suicides dont realize they are really going to be dead forever. I am so sad when I hear of a teenager killing themselves, because I know they didn't know the extent of their actions.

People kill themselves because we just cannot
take it or stand the B.S. any longer
and life it does suck
Some people just get under my skin and I have had it
with life
And it is both big and small things that get us down
in life
I would commit suicide because of the pressures
and my depression and bi-polar gets to me
and all the reasons to commit suicide
if I could and I probably will end up dead someday

It depends. Each life is different-some people have depression and then have horrible things happen to them that make them lose all hope. In general I don't think it's a good idea, but if you are suffering so much that you can't enjoy life then what's the point of sticking around? That goes for euthanasia too.

Did you ever see the movie, "As Good As It Gets"? When Jack Nicholson is talking about how some people have great lives, but some people have the totally opposite?
I think when people like you say that life is not always bad, we fail to realize that some people feel life is ALWAYS bad. If I felt like that, I wouldn't want to live either...

Obviously you have not yet found out just how bad it can get.
What is even more amazing to me is the number of people who are killing themselves slowly - through smoking, alcohol, drugs and other vices.
No peace.
God gives peace, but no one wants to give up their sin.

I don’t believe it could be explained to you. Not because you are stupid or anything, but it’s clear that you have never felt true sorrow (and that’s not a bad thing), but if you had, you wouldn’t have to ask this question.
I don't condone suicide. It’s the worst choice.

I dont know why people kill themselves , maybe they are depressed. But it is a pretty sad thing, isn't it!

they do it beacause they are weak mentaly so they choose the easiets path and the path is death. To me this is stupid.
