Our tv did that too. Don't just switch it off using the remote button, turn it off using the button on the tv or unplug it. Leave it for 12hrs (maybe more if u can do without tv) and turn it back on. That worked for my tv. If that doesnt work, u'll have to take it to the tech guy.. Good luck!

The spot caused by the earth magnet is all the Red Green and Blue misfiring and being directed wrong. The is a round electro magnet that is called a degauser and you hold it 12 feet from the tv and move 3 feet closer after a minute and use a straight circular motion around the spot and it should spread it out. thus fixing your spot.

an experiment to try as all people do not have degauser and may have surround sound can take 2 shielded speakers and a ungrounded speaker 6 ohm and 10 - 60 watts(note this will require 2 people 1 to hold sheilded speakers and 1 to hol unshielded speaker.), put it between the shielded surround sound speakers and then touch the spot on the tv with the magnet for 5 sec and the slowly move the magnet away from the tv spot leaving shielded speakers on the tv. then if it works good and if not get the same earth magnet and hold it close to the tv until you get a bright color and stay approx distance and move magnet as you are erasing the spot.

if that does not work then a electro magnetic degausser(de gow zer) is needed and I have one but am in buffalo new york.

Switch the TV off from the wall a couple of times and allow the set to start from cold. The sets auto degauss will operate and clear the problem for you ! Cheers Pete

Shut it off. After about a half hour the degauss circuirt should demagnetize the shadowmask on the crt when the set is turned on. Might need to do this a few times.
