question too big (tesla coil question)?

on a tesla coil circuit, where you see it's secoindary coil at the bottom of it where you see a ground symbol does that mean that you should connect that back to the discharge sphere

No, it mean you connect it to the Ground, usually the Earth. If you connect it back to the discharge sphere, you'll short out the secondary coil and totally ruin your Tesla Coil.

No. That will short it out.

That bottom connection should be a real Earth ground connection, though -- for best results.
