Well - gossip is when you say things about other people that they didn't say to you. Say your co-worker Mary told you that the boss was having an affair. Mary is gossiping. And - if you go home and tell your husband what Mary said - then you are gossiping too.
Now - if the boss yells at you because she doesn't like your report. Or Mary throws a snide remark at you as she passes your desk - and then you go home and tell your husband about those things ----- you're just venting.
It' pretty important to be able to vent to you hubby. BUT - if it's going on daily - or even a few times a week - I'm sure he's getting sick of it. Get a different job! One that you love!!

In a way it is, but your husband is there for you to vent.. be a sounding board, just like you are for him. He is your partner and if you didn't have him and started airing it out at work that causes more gossip problems so to take the lesser "gossiping evil". I would gossip, vent, gripe, and sound off to him.

Venting is just a nice way of saying gossiping. I do believe though you can 'gossip' about your day with your husband as long as no names or slanders are used. But that is my opinion.

yep. if it is a rehash of everything that was said throughout the whole day whether it is fact or fiction it is gossip. if you vent about a particular co worker that drives you crazy then no it is only natural to vent.

I wouldn't consider it to be gossip. Your spouse is likely the person you are closest to, and the person you share the details of the events of your day with - good or bad. You can say things to your husband that no one else would understand , or would probably care to listen to. It's good luck to have someone to share things with :)

I don't think so. Gossip is when you do it maliciously and just want to pass it on. I think it's healthy to vent and your husband sounds like he is very supportive, so just let it out.

Not at all as long as it is not the only thing you talk about. Balance it out with positive stuff, if not about the office, about something else.
