No Ray, I certainly do not believe that GOD creates evil. I asked this same question the other day and got no intelligent answers. Have you read the Apocryphon of John? Certainly blows some of the modern churches favorite doctrines out of the water eh?

I form the light and create darkness,
I bring prosperity and create disaster;
I, the LORD, do all these things.; Isaiah 45:7 (NIV)
The One forming light and creating darkness,
Causing well-being and creating calamity;
I am the LORD who does all these.; Isaiah 45:7 (NASB)
I form the light and create darkness, I make peace [national well-being] and I create [physical] [a]evil (calamity); I am the Lord, Who does all these things.; Isaiah 45:7 (AB)
I create the light and make the darkness.
I send good times and bad times.
I, the Lord, am the one who does these things.; Isaiah 45:7 (NLT)
I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.; Isaiah 45:7 (KJV)
This is just an example of mistranslation and misinterpretation.
No one can agree on which of these versions is the true translation. So this proves that man writes the bible, if God truely wrote the bible every word would mean the same thing from version to version. There would be no variances in the words save for language itself.

He never said he created evil. He created disasters like in Egypt, when Moses was asking the pharoah to free the Jews, he sent down the 7 plagues. Or even when he flooded the earth, that wasn't evil. So, no, I don't believe he created evil.
I have read Isaiah 45:7 and it states
"I created both light and darkness; I bring both blessing and disaster"
Where does it say He creates evil? Light and darkness is day and night. Read further to Isaiah 45:12 He states
"I am the one who made the earth and created mankind to live there. By my power I stretched out the heavens; I control the sun, the moon and the stars."
He was stating that no one should question God, if God says to do something, they should put their trust in God and God will make it happen. HELLO!

God does not create evil. and KJV of Isaiah 45:7 is a sad translation, He will cause calamity to those who oppose or cause harm to his followers. see James 1:13. Satan is the one who causes evil, and causes us many trials.
(Romans 11:22) 22Â See, therefore, God’s kindness and severity. Toward those who fell there is severity, but toward you there is God’s kindness, provided you remain in his kindness; otherwise, you also will be lopped off. or (Jude 5)

If Isaiah is true then this means WE CHOOSE to be evil NOT "THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT" Next question does evil exist? Who decides how the word evil is defined. The more questions asked the more interesting these thoughts become.

A very good Bible Teacher, called of GOD to be a teacher, says that after he studied greek and hebrew, what that means is HE lets Evil "happen".

Evil is the absence of God. So, no, God didn't and couldn't create it, but since human self will is stronger than God's will, he can't prevent evil.
