With Indian food a lot of healthy foods (meaning fruits and veggies and healthy meats such as chicken) are used. To find out more about Indian food (and this can be better answered there) check out: http://www.indianfood.about.com

It's a really good site.

As for exercise yes swimming is a good way but walking is another good way as well.

As long as you exercise and eat in moderation's you wont. People who gained weight are the ones who dont watch their moderation's and dont exercise and those with medical problems. Drink a 8ounce glass of water or more if you need to 20 min. before your meal and this should help how much to eat and it's very healthy. Because our stomachs are very little that we dont need to shove things to stretch it out.
Good luck.
