It sounds like you believe in *a* god, but not specifically the judeo-christian one.
While it's still an irrational belief, it's far, far less harmful to both you and others.

Beliefs- the most deceptive word and practice in religion. It basically the acceptance of things as though they are true but there is nothing to verify it with other than your emotions. Because u r thinking and see things logically, many things in the scriptures will not make sense 2u because it contradicts logic & spellbound people into ignorance.
However if what the religious people say is true about having freewill then that means we should live ourlives as we are most comfortable with. The hypocritical side of them will always surface when u go against what is 'believed' to be the right thing according to the bible. But the sad FACT is that none of the bible is FACTUAL thus u should ignore those things which makes no sense 2u and try 2 grow 2 your fullest potential even if it means ignoring the bible. Those were teaching put in place for a certain people for a certain time and it really does not help us in any way.

You are not alone. Scripture in any religion can't possibly be entirely true, but there are good stories and ideas in it where people can learn how to live a good life. Scripture was written by humans and humans are flawed. The stories were also written long after any of the events occured, this means the they were passed down through generations through oral/ aural stories (since long ago people didn't have the means to write, or they didn't record everything if they lived a nomadic lifestyle). Its like in high school when something occurs, and the story is passed through the whole school. The story begins to change from person to person and eventually a complete lie could end up being spread around the school. If you want to believe in God, you are completely able to do so and not believe everything in scripture. God is love and just live life the way you feel you can also share and also be given love.

God does not lie. If you believe the author, why not his book? Also, the rules you cite aren't as you present them. Repentance is turning to God, not trying to get rid of sin yourself.
Women in Bible times were VERY restricted (much like today's fundamentalist Muslims). The rules in the Bible freed them up quite a lot, but made sure they did not give their faith a bad name by being overly flamboyant or immodest. Today, pants and hair showing are considered completely modest, and those things would definitely not give you a bad reputation, so I would say your jeans are still fine.
About the pork chop: pork was outlawed for Old Testament Jews to separate them from their lawless neighbors. There is nothing inherently bad with pork (except maybe too much fat :))
But apart from those things, sex without marriage does not work as well as with marriage, because that was not in God's plan from the beginning. It's OK if you don't get married, but casual sex is always a bad idea. If you already do we're back to the repentance thing again. If you don't want to turn to God, that's your problem (and a big one) but let me assure you, he's waiting for you.

Do you mean what is written in the bible?
Billion of people do not believe what is written in that book. So, no, you are not wrong. Sin is something early church leaders made up so that they could control the actions of people. They had to create an 'original' sin so that everyone was a sinner and therefore needed to join their church to be saved. Brilliant plan if you think about it. Not true of course, but brilliant plan none the less.

The way I see it a faith based belief in God is not even a comparrison of the bible that was written by man. As you know anything written by man is subject to his interpretation and would explain some of the conflicting information found there. The belief in a supreme being, though faith based, is a good thing. If you look at all religions that worship God, regardless of the name given or the pattern or manner that one has to achieve to get there, in essence and for the most part are the same. The worship of a god, to do's and not to do's in order to be worthy of an entrance to a place of beauty, peace, serenity and can only be achieved by the approval of God that is measured by the efforts and works of their life here on earth. Depending on your culture will dictate the belief that you were taught and adopted as a belief. There are reasons for the practices of certain beliefs, but if you do not practice all of them I doubt that it will be a disqualifier. Some are diciplines of the religious holidays and events leading to the celebration of a glorious event such as good friday. Religions have a tendancy to celebrate or show special interest to those things that are important in their belief and often times are directly from one of the stories of their guide or bible. Just in the number of non corresponding observances you can see the same commonality of the event but is reverenced in different ways according to the belief such as Christmas and Hannuka. If you think that your belief is strong and works for you then all of the other questions should disappear. I am sure God does not expect us to participate in the observance of every event of all religions any more than we could make the wrong decision as to the manner of worship we choose. If you remain secure in your devine belief and relationship with your creator the comfort that comes from him will allow all of these worries to decipate. The great thing about faith based belief is that if we follow the good things in life and do the right things, maintain a good relationship with our God, then those people will be allow to enter heaven. Even better is that the worthy will be allowed to enter but everyone will not travel the same road. There is always more ways to get somewhere that just one. If we were all to take the same path then there would only be one religion showing the path to heaven lighted by word of God, and because there is more than one path for people to take, Jesus gave his life for everyone not just one people or one path.

Wrong? That word is actually subjective. Myself, I can't see how miraculous nature CAN be and think there isn't something that created it but I also can't view nature and all it's miraculous wonders and imagine it was thought up by a single male. Really, a single anything. I see duality, not anything individual that gives birth or creates. But, how involved can anything be that would 'let' crack-addicted or deformed babies exist or allow the likes of Hitler to do what he did? And, I also am unable to reason why anyone would do anything without incentive of some sort (i.e.-why does God create anything if he's perfect to begin with?)

You're not wrong at all. Not in my opinion, anyway. I don't believe in sin - and I don't believe in hell. God is the Power of Love. The best thing we can do is be loving to each other.
I ran away from all the "rules" and dogma many years ago.
I like going to church (or a center - is what we call it now) - and I like to sing - and volunteer - and I enjoy the community of like minded people. So I found a religion or "Spirtuality" that works for me - and it's called "Religious Science." You ask above - "Does anyone understand?" Yes! There are lots of people at my center who understand exactly what you're talking about!!

If it doesn't make sense to you, then try something else! Why would you beat yourself silly over something like eating a pork chop sending you to a place called hell? You are FREE, your were born that way, and you will leave this plane of existence that way.......

we were born into sin because man himself isn't perfect not matter how hard we may try to be. Jesus was the sin sacrifice of the world. if you believe that Jesus is your savior he will cleanse you of all your sins. that doesn't mean however that you have a license to sin; but we will sin and that's where we have to ask God to forgive us when we do so. as far as the other issues you bring up.. it tells us in the Bible to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. God does not want any of us to go to hell. it was made for the devil and his angels. try to walk the straight and narrow and if you stray pray for help. follow the commandments set forth in the Bible and you will be ok.

I agree with you 100%. (surprised to hear that?)
You are correct. Texas IS a wonderful place to live, and I think your statements about pizza being better than spaghetti hit the nail right on the head. You are also correct in your comparison of the Toyota 4-Runner vs. the Isuzu Trooper.
None of this makes sense, does it? But you see, I agree with VodkaNevada (as I decide to picture you) , but I don't believe in what VodkaNevada has written.
