I have been researching diets and I know everyone is different, but i thought the atkins diet seemed ok. Anyone know anyother diets that help you lose weight and keep it off. I am trying to lose post pregnancy pounds, last kid 2 years ago. I also have little time to work out, but motivating myself to start again.

The only way that you can lose weight is if you burn more calories then you consume. Yes the high fat low carb Atkins diet works for this reason. Fat is the most concentrated storage place for both nutrients and toxins. If going on the atkins diet you should know that the main point is eliminating the toxic carbs in food such as high fruct. corn syrup and whatnot. But, be sure not to eliminate carbs but consume them at opportune times such as right after doing a strenuous activity and not just as a anytime snack. Anyways always research the topic somemore if you want to talk to people who have been on low carb diets for years go to this forum.

I kept myself on Atkins for years and years but the problem is the minute you eat any sort of carbs the weight all comes back with a vengeance and it is doubly harder to get it back off.

The best diet is low call; low fat: like a Weight Watchers program.

I have tried them ALL and that is the only way I lost weight and kept it off.

I worked for a Plastic Surgeon who lost over 60 pounds on Atkins. He has kept it off. His wife also started on it and lost the 25 pounds she wanted to. The last time I saw her, she still had it off too.

I'm sure you will loose weight on it, but once you go off, you'll gain it back.
