You should contact the driver licencing authority for the state that issued your licence. I checked both the NSW and QLD sites and they don't indicate anything about being able to replace a licence through the post, but they may have a special procedure for persons such as yourself who are temporarily residing abroad.

Best to make a phone call and ask them. The Australian Consulate may also be able to point you in the right direction.

I would check with the Roads and Traffic Authority in NSW or its equavalent in other States. I had to renew my licence after I lost it and it is not a problem but they do need to take your photograph - which could be. You should also try the Australian Embassy or Consulate if there is one in Panama City. It is their job to help people replace lost documants.

There's no such thing as an Australian driving license, they're issued by States.

Go to the Aus embassy, just don't tell them your name is David Hicks or you won't get any help.

Go to the Australian Embassy and they will help you to get a replacement, that is part of their duties for Auzzies overseas.
