the Bible was written from the perspective of man. in everyday conversation people say "the sun went down" or "the sun rose" but we know that the sun is not what is moving but it is the earth. the Bible is the same way
Havent you heard of relativity? There is no fixed reference frame in the universe - everything is relative to something else depending which reference frame you are looking from. In the case of the Bible people wrote with respect to the frame of the Earth.
I say the "sun went down" or "the sun is out" all the time and so does everyone else, its just how people speak. The Bible isnt a science textbook!

Do the math and you'll find that it works out the same, either way.

Nobody (not even NASA) can definitively prove otherwise.

Space has no center. Space has no edge.

The Bible deals with these matters on only a very essential level.

Consult your local rocket scientist for all the details.

These things have always been express this way,,even to this day. The sun comes up and the sun goes down. The moon come up and goes down etc. Everyone knows the sun doesn't move, or maybe not everyone.

The laws of physics make it impossible for the Sun to orbit the Earth. The Bible only has value as... well, .... nothing comes to mind, doorstop maybe? It's not even good literature.

Brad has it right...from mans perspective on the earth, the sun and moon appear to move( sunrise-sunset).As for the verses that refer to the earth being immovable...there are verses that talk of the earth being till time indefinate and it will not be destroyed, in that sense it is immovable. It will always be in existance.

scientists have come to the conclusion that the stars in the night sky seem to move in a circular formation around the earth, due to the earth's motion around the sun.

Nope, the church burned people at the stake for believing in the truth because of that wrong Bible verse.

The Bible does not say that....

U are nitpicking verse without reading it all. Is that the only way you can feel good? By making up lies and proclaiming them true? That would explain evolution now wouldn't it?
