Yep. Tropical rainforests generate the majority of oxygen, though photoplankton isn't far behind.
Who says humans arethe smartest creatures? What creature that knowingly destroys it's own life support system to make lawnchairs and desks is smart?

Atmospheric oxygen is NOT from tropical rain forests. People just assume it is, but the available scientific evidence does not support that idea.

Who told you that atmospheric oxygen came from rain forests? Some does, some comes from elsewhere. Rain forest that is destoyed is replaced by crops that also produce oxygen.

In the long run, barring some kind of catastrophe that completely shatters the planet (i.e. - the Death Star in Star Wars) the "Earth" will likely be just fine.
When it comes to every living thing on the planet..... Oxygen, CO2 emissions, radiation, pollution, super-viruses, etc..... - You probably have more to worry about.

Most atmospheric oxygen comes from photosynthetic algae in the oceans. Sea weed, etc. Most likely old age will kill us before either one. And frankly anaerobic bacteria really won't give a damn.

any which way you cut it, we are reducing the oxygen in the environment and increasing the caron dioxide. Eventually a huge percentage of the human population will die, solving the problem.

There is a theory out there (I'm not sure where) that says that human beings are a pest to the Earth and "she" is trying to get rid of us.
Maybe if we got along better with her, played nice, she'd let us stay.

Yes we could if we don't stop cutting down the rainforests. So we really should help save the rainforests.
