I have read it front to back. And I have read many sections over and over again. I have to admit, I did skim on some of the monotonous parts you are talking about....you can only read for so long about who begot who before you start spacing out.

I have many times. But the Bible was not just meant to be "read" like a novel. It was meant to be studied. Leviticus is a book rich in detail about Jesus and His redemptive work on Calvary, but to see that you must search out the principles underlying the surface meaning. Once you see the structure of the book and the patterns within it, the beauty of it is awesome. "Explore the Book" by Sidlow Baxter is great at giving an overview of structural analysis. I don't agree with everything he says, but there is still alot of good stuff there. Check it out and see for yourself what he says about Leviticus. You'll find Jesus hidden underneath it all!

I would say when you get to Leviticus, either skip it if you're not ready, or if you are ready for serious study, pull out a commentary that will explain all the history and the symbolism behind all of the detailed regulations.
I have *almost* read the entire bible - the only book I haven't read all the way through is the Psalms.

I have, but there were parts of the Bible that didn't fit, they didn't make sense.
But then I read the Word of God only the words spoken by Jesus and the entire bible came to life.
Words that I never seen before, now appeared as if by magic. The more I read the more I saw. There have been many, many days that I would not be able to get the words out of my head.
I would think about God 24 hours a day, I lost many friends and family members because of it, It is all I would want to talk about. I went to many, many churches sought out every television preacher I could find, but it only made me long for the words more and more.
I have a hurting need to hear the Words spoken by Jesus To Hear Jesus' spoken words the sermon on the Mount, I have seen the words and I but I have an uncontrollable desire to hear the Words.
I would give all that I have to be able to hear the Words spoken on the mount

I have read the entire bible from Genesis to Revelation several times.
It does get tough in Leviticus and Numbers. Many laws in Leviticus and so many genealogies in Numbers. You have to love history to really get involved with 1&2 Choronicles.
However I love the book of Judges. Samson is my favorite bible hero. He has the best humor of anyone in the whole bible.

I have been doing that for the past year, and I am going very slowly, which is not what I intended, which means I need to be reading it everyday!! I am in Galatians now....I will want to do this again! I love studying the word of God. I love learning His truth, and what He has to teach me.
