I have recieved the free gift of eternal life.
Jesus took my place on the cruel cross of Calvary. So I have such a love and appreciation for Him that I wouldn't take His name in vain. If people knew Him like I do, they wouldn't either! Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us,in that while we were yet sinners. Christ died for us.

1.) People in the U.S. are surrounded by a whole lot of Christians. It is part of our culture, for better or worse. Thus, it is part of our language.
2.) I don't ever curse using the names of any god/s, but I think I'm going to start saying "For the love of Kali!" Thanks for the great idea!

Jesus, Daddy and the Spook, that's the lamest defense of Christianity I've ever heard!

We use "God" and "Jesus" to curse for the same reason we use them to pray - that's the superstition in which most of us were raised.

Dear sweet Zeus, Hera, and Aphrodite!

Lots of people do. Christianity is just the majority (US), so that's the religion we curse in.

That's really silly. So when it hit my thumb with a hammer and exclaim: JUMPIN' JESUS ON A POGO STICK - that somehow gives credence to god's existence?
