Nice to see you on... John 3 talks about 2 births. A natural Birth and a Spiritual birth.. This passage says nothing about baptism. You have it right the natural birth is born of the water.. The water of natural birth. The spiritual birth creates a new heart in the believer one that turns away from this world of sin and toward the Light and Life that is in God.. I have tried and tried to show them this point but they have been so programmed that they can't see the message anymore. All they see is water and spirit and baptism pops out of their minds... Jim

We believe being "born of water and of the spirit" is when we are baptized, immersed in water then when given the gift of the Holy Ghost that is being "born of the spirit".. Baptism represents a new start, spiritually, as you are "sinless" (for a minute anyways) after baptism. Also, Baptism represents physical death and resurrection.
We don't believe being "born of water" is being birthed. That would be taking away a choice of an individual (thus supporting satan's plan and that is not happening)...
For official information on what we believe, please use the official websites LDS.org or mormon.org. No other site is guaranteed to give you 100% correct information...

Same reason some Churches teach that the Baptismal Pool washes away sin. Just think how dirty that water must be. In these Churches I think I would ask to be first if there was a number to be Baptisted at once

Because that is what Jesus told Nicodemus.
JOHN 3:1-5
1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Baptism is in similitude of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ
ROMANS 6:1-4
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Baptism by immersion is a symbolic gesture taken when we accept Christ as our Savior and redeemer. The ordinance represents the birth, the death, and the resurrection of Christ.
Now you've read it from one who knows.
