I overspent on my daughter. She got almost $700 spent on her for Christmas. But she had a hard year and overcame so much and I felt she deserved a little extra.

I have 5 kids and we spent $100 each on them last year for christmas for easter they don't want easter eggs so we gave them $20 each which they are happy with.
Birthdays are more special and we would spend an average of between $100 and $150 on them depending on the age and what they are into.
You should be grateful you got that much when I was a kid all my presents come from charity if they hadn't given my parents gifts for us kids I wouldn't of had any at all there are lots of kids out there like that now.

I spend £75 per child at Christmas which I can make go a long way...(and I think it's close to your $100). It shouldn't matter how much gets spent on you but the time you enjoy with family, friends or carers at Christmas. The local authority, though gave me over £200 to spend on a foster child which is WAY too much and I struggled to spend it all and had to make it look fair on my own children. Parents scrimp and save and would be very hurt to think their children were ungrateful.

My kids are 11 and 12 and I spent about $100 on each of them, and they got faaarrrr more than most of their friends - plus I don't give them socks and such as gifts - so I think you probably did better than average. When my kids were small I spent $50 on them for Christmas.

My parents spend very little money on me unless it's something I need. So be grateful you got 100 dollars, ive gotten that maybe, ONCE? Im glad im finally old enough to start working, I don't think my parents will be buying me a car, ipod, or paying for my future schooling.

Um way to much. We have a 4 yr old daughter and I guess that we spend somewhere in the neighborhood of around 400.00 We have vowed to spend about half of that this year.
Your mom very likely gave you what she could afford to give you. We always want to give and give to our children but honestly that is not in their best interests. Besides I bet you were really frugal with that 100.00 :)

We spent about $100 on our 3 year old, and only about $10 on our baby who was 1 month old at the time.

Only gave you a $100? Sjeez...I think you should give her a big kiss and cuddle to say thanks for getting anything at all, even if you are so unthankful! :-) Sweetie, I am sure your mom gave you as much or more than she can afford.
I've spend in £, so that won't be a good comparison anyway.

Sorry, but please do not tell me you are whining over a "GIFT"! I am sure your mom did the best she could. We moms would cut off a limb for our kids.Wait for the sales and that money will go farther. Put in the bank and do odd jobs for money and add to it and see how it grows. You won't feel the same next X-mas and realize $100 is a good amount, and hard to come by.

I spent about 300 dollars because I bought my son a Nintendo Wii, and some accesories. But since I come for a very very very well financially stable family (my dad owns a bank)....Id say you got average. On the other hand, my brother is a total freak, who has a 4 month old (baby was 3 weeks at Christmas) spent over 4,000 dollars on him....And not on necessary things, he bought puma shoes for the baby, One of everything they had inside a baby gap for boys, and a bunch of other crap, my brother is pretty show off-y.....He drives a lamborghini, has a 15 room house, and has spaent over a million dollars on his 4 month old son already.
