Why not attribute it to the impossible. If you had Parkinsens and the Pope laid hands on you and it was gone, wouldn't you be happy? People are cured by miraculous means all the time. I've got two friends who had cancer (bad cancer, too. even their doctors gave up hope). Once we started a prayer group, their cancer faded and went away. No medicines until then had worked, no chemo had worked. Their own doctors were telling their famlies it was a matter of time and here's a great number for a funeral home.
Why not call that a miracle. Why wouldn't the Pope be someone who can bring about a miracle?
Miracles or not, Pope John Paul 2 was a saint.

Why can't some people fathom that it's a miracle?
Why can't a miracle happen?
But the Church is very serious about these things they are investigated thoroughly. This is not done lightly. There are many who say they've experienced a miracle and when the Church investigates it's found to be untrue. But there are genuine miracles.
The thing is not to hear miracle and automatically think it's ridiculous. You need to realize there are happenings in this world that cannot be explained. Also, even if some things have a scientific basis for how they happen...it still doesn't explain the "why!" And that is where the miracle comes in.

No kidding, hon! They are investigating it! It takes months and many times years of investigating before the Church determines it to be a miracle or not from a particular person or not. Read some other stories of other saints and of people that haven't been declared as saints. The Church has not declared him a saint. They only said that they are investigating the cure of this sister's Parkinson's disease after she prayed to Pope JP II. There is much more to being declared a saint than one person merely saying that they said a prayer and they are cured. Get educated on the topic before you rattle off. Geez!

It says in the Bible that God can heal anyone. Now he doesn't heal everyone or all the time but God does do miracles. The Parkinsons test is pretty extensive so it's not likely that the doctors had her test reading wrong. I know a lot of stories of people I personally know getting healed by God, including myself. I know not everyone believes in God but I know atheist doctors that can't explain diseases just going away after having extensive tests to prove that the person having the disease in the first place.

High-level Catholics will do anything to make the Pope into a saint. They even chose a really old and unimpressive pope to follow him for fear that a new pope would overshadow his legacy. Now they are trying to "fast-track" him to sainthood. his politicization of religion is sickening, and is proof that at least the high-level Catholics do not believe what they teach. If the Pope is a holy person, and God knows all our actions, you can't rig the vote and expect to get away with it.
Also, to Cris, who said we should leave her alone: I'm glad she is cured, but telling people that it was God/the Pope encourages people to put more faith (and money) into religion than into scientific study. This is a dangerous thing. I hope the nun lives a long and happy life, but I hope no one takes her seriously. Belief that God causes and cures illness is what led everyone to do nothing while the AIDS crisis got out of control.

Ok, why can't people fathom that all things are possible with God (Matthew 19:26), that purhaps God worked through Pope John Paul II to cure this woman?
God bless,

A priest, once ordained, remains a priest forever. Ditto for a Pope.
If you don't believe in miracles, than no one is going to force you to beleve otherwise.
St. Peter used to cure lots of people when he was Pope.
There's no reason at all that things like that cannot still occur.
Was your closing "Geez" supposed to be short for the holy name of Jesus, or for something else?

If you know anything about canonization, it is not automatically attributed and it takes much more than one thing to be canonized a Saint.

the sad thing is: The old Pope can not communicate with people on earth and Christians do not heal, they pray that God will heal. If I pray for someone and God heals them, I have done nothing more than said a few words for them and God deserves the Glory, not me. Christians are servants of God and don't deserve and shouldn't be given glory..
The other thing is that once you are dead, you have no more work here on earth and have gone to your eternal reward. It is not allowed that the dead normally have communication with the living..
