Oh is this one of those theistically infected mind games? Like are you some how trying to say since the calender is based on the mythical jesus's birth that atheists are hypocrites? Look, there have been many calenders used by man, even before the christ scam was concocted. Doesn't really mean diddly what is used as the basis for the calender. In order for calenders to work you need a starting point.

I often write A.D. and B.C. when distinguishing betwen historial events from the past and present or giving a mass ammount of dates because if I wrote 25 B.C.E. or 2000 C.E. most people probably wouldnt know what I meant by Before Common Era and Common Era.
Although that said most people probably dont understand what A.D. means Ive heard many Christians say that it means After Death when in reality it means Anno Domini (In the Year of Our Lord)
