After the first year in a relationship with him, my academic achievements have taken a nose dive and it is not getting any better. In fact, i am unable to focus on my studies. Should i end the relationship? we get along great otherwise.

Maybe don't end it - just try to get a little distance from the relationship when you need it. The most important thing is to talk to him and tell him what's going on - so he doesn't get the wrong idea. Good Luck.

I think maybe you should take a break if you cant find time to focus on your studies, or talk to him about it see if he can help you out, or even some friends instead of letting things distract you. There is always a way to get things done. You's been together for a while, and if you arent having any actual problems besides that then its not really worth throwing it away, you just need to work around it because maybe its not even him thats causing you to loosed focus, it could just be you loosing interest in what your studying, and you need someone to help you stick to it.

You definitely want someone to encourage you in every way they can about your school work. You have to do what you feel is best for you at this time. If you notice your grades are taking a downfall and you know why it's happening, you may want to make some changes. Not necessarily breaking up, but talk to him about your concerns, and get a schedule together for your study times and yourself. If he is unwilling to coorperate, then at that time, it would be wise to maek some changes, and that may mean concerning your relationship.

You need to find the true reason for the decline of your grades.....Is it because he demands too much of your attention, belittles your education goals, etc... or would you just rather give up and focus on him like a housewife? Letting all the things that are important to you be pushed aside for him......

None of these reasons are good and If it is him holding you back, using whatever means possible then yes, I think you should part ways before you waste your valuable young life.

If you can't do school work and have a relationship simultaneously, then you are too immature for a May-December relationship or any relationship for that matter.
Yes, I think you should end it and concentrate on your school work for now. There will be plenty of time for men.

My husband is 17 years older than me so don't worry about the age thing. But if you are going to school and it is effecting your grades then you need to back off. You need schooling in this life time. you don't need no man. go to school get good grades, get the job of your dreams, then think about a man. You should always think of yourself first.

Since he is older he should be giving you help in your studies if you want to spend time with him. If he is unwilling to help, end the relationship. No guy is worth failing school.

Men are like busses, there will be another one in 15 minutes. An education is forever (so is a lack of one).
