There is no racism in PR. Our race is a mix of Spaniards, Africans, and native indians. There are people from every color, dark, light, tanned, you name it! We are all very different.
There would be no special or different treatment for an african american teen.

Like Any other Teen will be treated..Puerto Rico is a Melting Pot so You have Black,whites, Indian ..so is nothing out of the Ordinary..

Here In Puerto Rico there are a mix of races here were not racist at all you will get treated as an equal also remember that the school sistem here is not the same as in the US here public schools aren't very safe private schools are a better choise

Puerto Rico is very racially diverse, so do not expect the same prejudices you see in the US mainland. I'd say you should have no problem.

Puerto Rico has a merge of different cultures...african, taino, spanish, american...a melting pot. Here the skin color does not matter. You will see a lot of black/brown skin portoricans.
Come over and you will see that we do not discriminate because of your skin color.

really? well, puerto ricans classify themselfs as black, white and tan. The ones that refer to themselves as la negra or el *****.. it is used as a term of endearment. You should be fine, luckily puerto rico doesn't see color like that.

I went there with a group of friends. Baisically most all puerto ricans are loving, flirty and fun. It's rare if one acts prejudice/racist. Peurto ricans are made up of a mix of ancestors of spaniards/ local native indians/africans.

You would get treated very nicely, us puertorricans are really cool, and puertorrican girls loooove african americans, so you would have no problem meeting ladies!

I have been there, and my friends who moved there that are white (and muslim) get treated like poop, it might be because they go to a private school but everyone at their school is extremely bigoted against anyone who is not a latino christian.
