this is a BIG misconception about money and i do not think that money is the route of all evil , it is the LACK of $ that is the route off all evil. for instance, countries that have a high crime rate is the cause of lack of employment means no job, then idle time then hopelessness then people feel frustrated over the system and do bad stuff. wealthy people do not really have time for those stuff, even if they do it is minority. as a matter of fact money has no value until u place value on it, therefore it is what u do with $.
i know i kinda answer my own question for those of you who agree with me, but i would love to here your views!
it is ok to disagree!, thanks

You are correct in a way, however most people don't see it this way. Yes I do believe $ is the root of all evil because its the lack of it that make people nuts, they can't pay their rent, or by food and clothing, and the end result is steel and go to jail over it? so you tell me what is more evil than that. People who do have the money and are rich, did they ever sit and think that if each rich person took on person off the street, fed, clothed and paid for them to educate themselves and get a great job and the only catch would be that they have to do this for one person when they are financially set. It would be a win win situation. This way money would be doing a positive. Its the lack of having necessities for daily living that get people in a rut, but what are we doing about it, take care Heather

People are the root of all Evil, they are the ones who make the choices between (as well as the determination of) Good an Evil. Money is just an object; jealously, desire, greed, corruption are some negative human emotions that can taint the view of Money as Evil.

I think that the expression means it is the desire for money that is the ROOT (not route) of all evil. Since the less you have the more you desire you are , in effect, agreeing with the statement.

No.

The LOVE of money is the root of all evil.

Money itself is simply a tool, a medium of exchange.

It simplifies life more than barter; it saves the auto worker from taking home an automobile once a year & giving it to his landlord, and trying to get change for the butcher & milkman. It saves the landlord from having to exchange an auto for utility service, etc, etc.

Money, and to a greater extent, credit, are useful servants, but terrible masters.

The actual saying, from the Bible, is, "The love of money is the root of all evil."

You misquoted. So, no, I agree with you and I don't think money is the root of all evil -- the love of it is.
