What percentage of the wolrds energy comes from wind energy? Where is it used most? Thanks!

Anyone who tells you wind isn't a reliable source of energy has revealed that they basically know nothing about the energy industry ;) Furthermore, anyone who knows about wind realizes that it usually blows more at night, and that electric loads are greatest in the daytime. Sigh...ignorance is bliss for some!

In this country, wind accounts for less than 1% of all power generated, though that is changing fairly quickly.

In Denmark, 10% of the grid power is made via wind generation, and they plan to increase this to 30% in the next decade! FYI Denmark doesn't have problems with wind power, though they often have surplus capacity they have to dump into neighboring countries.

Less than 1% worldwide, but it varies by country. For example, in Denmark it accounts for 18% of the country's energy. The website below shows how much energy is produced by each country.

It is not a reliable source . In most places the wind will blow much less at night when u need to turn on the lights.
