please help. i really cant get along with my sister!! she is 16-2 years older then me. she has ADD, OCD, and is Dyslexic. It is almost IMPOSSIBLE to get along with her- and i know were teens so its gonna happen but ... it has been our whole life that we cant get along? anyone know to deal with her better and understand her more?shes not like a retard.. shes normal around her friends like every 16year old girl. thanks!

I am 3 years older than my sister, and when i was 16 and se was 13 we didnt get along either, so we just tried to stay out of each others way, Im sure you wont fight like that all the time, Im 18 noe and shes 15 we get along great, she calls me and talks to me like we a re best friends, so just give it some time and make sure you give your sister her space, because i always wanted my space, and it will all work out, Good luck....

How you react, interact, and respond to another person is a matter of choice. You have the ability to choose your behavior in regards to someone else. I do not believe in the statement, "You make me so mad!" I believe that no one can make you mad. You choose to be mad. You give up your free will if you say someone can make me do anything...
So, tell yourself that you will simply not let your sisters behavior effect you beyond what you choose to do. It will not be easy; will be very hared.
But if you practice "self talk" to yourself and say things over and over like, "I love my sister. I will not let her behavior effect me negatively, I will be patient with her, etc." You can learn to accept her for who she is, learn to tolerate her idiosyncrasies, and learn to get along with each other better.
