I call him Paul because he looks like a Paul. Though his name is Rick and I know it is, my mind keeps registering Paul when I see him. he is starting to get aggrivated but its hard to call him Rick. Does anyone else have this problem with someone they know? Is it wrong I keep doing it?

Yes, I've done it. One poor guy I know is named Bruce, but he is SO NOT a Bruce -- I keep accidentally calling him George! He's OK with it though -- I explained and he understands. I work real hard to do it right now!

I know what you mean. My name is Rick and this guy named Gus always refers to me as Paul for some reason. I've never corrected him because the guy's in a wheelchair.

Every time, I am not exaggerating, someone calls me by the wrong name they call me Scott. Scott is not close to my real name. Whenever I ask why they tell me I look like a Scott. What does a Scott look like?

haha yes! happens to me all the time. I have this problem of making up names for people instead of just calling them by their real names. Like this guy i know named Lawrence, I call him Claude for no apparent reason. :/

One of my former coworkers called me a Roberta forever - of course, my name isn't Roberta. But she told me that I just looked like a Roberta. I have no idea why either! LOL

I also had a former boss whose name is Carla and I kept wanting to call her Carol. It was really hard to call her by her real name too.

Yes, sometimes if a person reminds me of someone else I will call them by the other person's name. I have to keep apologizing too.

I've done it. I knew a women named Julie, but she looked like a Linda to me and I could never think of her as a Julie. I would try to refrain from actually call her Linda though.

At least you didn't make the mistake of calling a "she" a "he"!

I did that once by accident - the girl's name was Reggie and she was very large and male looking - I honestly thought it was a guy. I was so embarrassed when she told me she was a she, not a he.

I've done that a lot for the same reason. It is probably best not to call him by any name until you have internalized his name.

Hahaha. That's very funny...

I have a shocking memory for names (and everything else, frankly). I was convinced a girl in this department was called Lynne. I got quite cross when she insisted she wasn't.

...she wasn't.
