I would first try to sell it myself. try to post in on craigslist.org and autotrader.com.
If you trade it in....you will take a BEATING from the dealership, trust me, i know I use to be one of those cheese grinning saleswomen that will tell you anything to sign. Sounds like that may have happened with the Tahoe??? keep making those payments on time... then see what you can do from the classified adds?

Sell it outright yourself. That's about the best way to get all of the money out of it. If you trade it in, the dealer will add that amount onto your new loan and you are paying interest on that money for another 3 to 5 yrs.
when or if you get another truck, instead of getting a brand new one, try and get one a year or less old. You will save a bunch of money on the price plus in my State, you have to pay sales taxes on a used car if it has already been registered on the State. You save another 6% there.

first discuss it with a car and financial expert....if you trade it in, they seldom give you what its worth...How much longer are you to pay on it? maybe you can trade with the same place. learn to fix and rebuild your own car,and you may never have to buy one again.....but the best way to sell is request cash.
then pay it off,and find a car that isnt too new or old..
