Why do you care what other people think?! If you like it, then go with it! It's not your mum's child.

I can see why your mum isn't fond of the name. I think Ashton Martin sounds too much like Aston Martin, a sports car. Were you trying to accomplish this or is this a joke?

I wouldn't use the name Ashton with the last name of Martin since it's awfully close to the car Aston Martin!!

Sounds just a little too much like the car for my taste though it is not the same name the car is Aston Martin. It is so similar that it would seem that the possibility for being teased are endless. I believe I would have to rule in favor of your parents on this one perhaps you could rethink the name.

I think Ashton is an okay name... when used with the last name Martin.... Ashton Martin, it reminds me of the car.... Astin Martin. or however it is spelled.

I like "Ashton". It doesn't really matter what we think, tho. It is YOUR baby, right?;)
My kids names are so incredibly different. Our daughter's names are Arabic and our son's are Celtic and French. Mom thought my daughter's name was too "ethnic" sounding-but she warmed up to it-cuz dang it, she really had no say!

He's going to spend the rest of his life spelling it for people or correcting their spelling of his name. I get the car reference; but, you do that to pets or porn stars, not kids.

Give him a strong name that is easy to spell, so he will be successful in business or other endeavors.

Yes, I like the name and I wouldn't worry about what anyone thinks anyway.
